María Osorio has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. María currently holds the position of Director of Legal and Data Protection Officer at Empathy.co, starting in March 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an Attorney At Law at ALONSO CUERVO ABOGADOS SLP from March 2020 to March 2021.

From 2015 to 2020, María worked at Hutchison Ports as a Legal, Claims & Insurance Senior Manager. In this role, they demonstrated expertise in contract formulation and negotiation, streamlined business operations, and resolved complex contract issues.

Before that, María served as the Chief Compliance Officer and Legal Manager at SC Line Shipping Company, supervising a large team of lawyers and attorneys across multiple Latin American countries. María provided contractual claims suggestions and negotiated private contracts.

María also has experience as a Key Account Executive at L.R. Ducruet and as an Internship Trainee at Aon, both in 2012.

María Osorio has a diverse education history. María obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Deusto in 2011 and also pursued a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from The University of Edinburgh in 2009-2010. María furthered their education by completing a Master in Shipping and Ports Business Administration and a Master in Maritime Law from the University of Deusto in 2011-2012.

In 2018-2020, María attended Tulane University and earned an LLM in Finance degree. María also obtained a Master in Management degree with a specialization in Freeman School of Business from the same university.

To enhance their legal knowledge, María pursued additional certifications such as a Digital Law Diploma from IE Law School in 2021, a Software 360 (Ip protection) Diploma from Esade in 2022, and a Diploma in Legal Tech from IE Law School in 2022. María also completed an Executive Program in Business Administration from Aden Business School in 2016 and a Leadership Program from the same school in 2019.

Furthermore, María expanded their expertise in the field of law by obtaining an Expert in Mediation Civil, Mercantile, and Family diploma from EIM - Escuela Internacional de Mediación in 2021.

María also holds two certifications in Artificial Intelligence Ethics from the Ethical Commerce Alliance, obtained in 2023.
