Timothy Balilo has worked in a variety of roles in the scientific and medical fields. In 2020, they worked as a Laboratory Operations III at Emerald Cloud Lab where they executed experiments using robotics and automation, including HPLC, NMR, SDS-PAGE, Hamilton Liquid Handlers, PCR, and MALDI. Timothy also executed internal detection of SARS-CoV-2 from saliva via RNA extraction and running RT-qPCR. In 2019, they worked as a Practice Coordinator at UCSF Medical Center, servicing a high volume call center to three large clinics handling more than 100 calls per day. Timothy provided high level customer service to patients and assisted with registration and scheduling. In 2018, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The Crook Lab, where they collected data through observation of subjects for 6 week long periods, organized data through Microsoft Excel, and performed lab maintenance.

Timothy Balilo attended San Francisco State University from 2012 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a focus in Physiology, General.
