Sven V. has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Sven began their career as a Student Teacher at Stichting Studiebegeleiding Leiden in 2009 before moving on to work as a Student Assistant at Delft University of Technology from 2011 to 2013. In 2013, they had an internship at AUDI AG.
Sven then joined Formula Student Team Delft in 2010, where they served as the Chief Vehicle Dynamics engineer from 2011 to 2012. In this role, they were responsible for developing and implementing control systems, as well as designing suspension and kinematics for an all-wheel-drive electric car.
Afterward, they worked as a Race Engineer at Van Amersfoort Racing from 2013 to 2014, where they prepared cars and drivers for racing events in the German F3 championship. This involved simulation, data analysis, and driver coaching.
Sven then returned to AUDI AG, where they held the position of Performance and Vehicle Dynamics Controls Engineer for the LMP1 program from 2015 to 2017. During this time, they worked on optimizing vehicle dynamics controls and hybrid drivetrain systems using simulation and numerical optimization. Sven also contributed to the success of the Toyota Motorsport GmbH race team as a Performance Engineer for the LMP1 program from 2018 to 2019, including a victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Most recently, Sven joined embotech in 2019. Initially, they worked as a Motion Planning Software Engineer before being promoted to the role of Head of Safety and Systems Engineering in March 2022.
Sven V. pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology, starting in 2008 and graduating in 2015. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained certifications in "Modern Robotics, Course 4: Robot Motion Planning and Control" from Coursera in October 2019 and in C++ Nanodegree from Udacity in July 2019.
