Phil Balagtas is an accomplished professional with significant expertise in Futures Thinking and design. Currently serving as a Professor of Futures Thinking at ELISAVA and as an author of "Making Futures Work," Phil combines academic and practical insights gained through roles such as Principal and Executive Design Director at HABITAT LLC, where consultation focuses on strategic foresight and speculative design. Prior experience includes positions at McKinsey & Company, GE Aviation, and GE Digital, where Phil contributed to digital product design and strategy across various sectors. Phil also founded The Design Futures Initiative, promoting events centered on design fiction and foresight. Educational credentials include an MFA in Design from California College of the Arts and a BA in Visual Arts from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
