Merja Ranta-aho currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at Varma and as the EVP of HR at Elisa. With a background in psychology and extensive experience in human resources development, training, and communications, Merja has held various leadership roles within Elisa, including Vice President of HR, HRD, and Development Manager. Prior to their work at Elisa, Merja worked as a Research Scientist at Helsinki University of Technology, focusing on Human Factors in Telecommunications and User-centered Design. Merja also has experience as an editor for a university magazine. Merja holds a Licentiate in Technology, a Master of Science in Psychology, a Master of Arts in Psychology, and has completed the Stanford University Graduate School of Business SEP program.
