Peter Lipay has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Peter started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Washington in 2009, where they worked on the OneSwarm project and implemented a Java version of the UTP networking protocol.
In 2010, Peter had an internship as a Software Developer Engineer at Microsoft, before joining Knowledge Mosaic as a Software Developer Intern in 2009.
Peter then joined Microsoft as a Software Development Engineer in 2011, where they worked on stabilizing the app rendering engine for Windows 8 and played a core role in developing the Reading List and Calculator apps for Windows 8.1.
In 2015, Peter joined Kindred.ai as an Engineer, where they had a continuous role until 2019.
Finally, Peter is currently working at Elementary, initially as a Senior Software Engineer from 2019 to 2020, then as a Lead Software Architect from 2020 to 2021, and now as the Head of Software since 2021.
Peter Lipay earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Washington from 2007 to 2011. Peter then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Science at Stanford University from 2011 to 2014.
