Peter Herff is currently an analyst at Element SaaS Finance. Prior to that, they worked as a Tax Senior at Deloitte from June 2017 to September 2021. At Deloitte, they were responsible for preparing and reviewing state and local tax returns for fiscal and calendar year corporate taxpayers, modeling out quarterly estimates modifying Federal Taxable Income to various state and local jurisdictions, and managing junior staff during compliance "busy season" to successfully deliver all filings to clients. Peter also leveraged emergent data analytics tools such as Alteryx designer to automate state tax modifications.

In addition to their compliance work, Peter also provided consulting services to clients, researching Federal and State tax statutes to provide client with planning strategies, designing and suggesting implementation of most effective tax software to optimize compliance objectives, and advising on registration requirements and most effective paths of adding or removing jurisdictions to compliance footprint.

Finally, Peter was also responsible for calculating State and Local tax impact of quarterly financial tax provisions, performing "blended rate analyses", computing aggregate effect of state taxes, and assisting Federal Tax colleagues in presenting component of state taxes on quarterly provisions.

Peter Herff has a Master's Degree in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin, and they also went to Alamo Heights High School.
