Jev Prentice has been working in software engineering since 2012. Jev began their career as a Junior Software Engineer at MyGate Global. In 2014, they joined Mezzanine as a Senior Full Stack Engineer in the Product team, where they were responsible for requirements engineering, design, development, deployments/monitoring and maintenance of agricultural products based in Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa. Jev also held roles as a Senior Java Developer in the Platform team, DevOps Engineer in the Infrastructure team, and Solutions Developer in the Product team. In 2022, they joined Elder as a Software Engineer.

Jev Prentice began their education in 1999 at Durbanville Primary School. Jev then attended Curro Durbanville from 2000 to 2010. In 2012, they obtained a Diploma in Information Systems Software Development from CTI Education Group Durbanville. The following year, they received a Higher National Diploma in Project Management from the same institution. In 2014, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Systems from Heriot-Watt University. In 2018, they obtained an Oracle Certified Associate: Java SE 8 Programmer certification from Oracle.
