Maria Giokou is an experienced project manager and technical consultant with a strong background in managing EU-funded projects, currently serving at the Managing Authority of North Aegean Region since November 2017. Maria oversees a portfolio of 20 large-scale EU Regional Development Fund projects, supports the implementation of the Smart Specialization Strategy, and provides technical expertise for European Social Fund projects. Additionally, since November 2022, Maria has been working as a financial auditor at ELANET, auditing operational programs funded by the European Structural and Investment Funds. Previous roles include senior consultant at PLANET S.A., consultant at Intraway LTD, communication consultant at the Observatory for the Greek Information Society, and various positions related to ICT training and support for SMEs. Maria holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Science in Web Information Management from Northumbria University and a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Portsmouth.
