Francisco Covarrubias has extensive experience in academia and journalism, currently serving as a columnist and editorialist at El Mercurio since 2010, while also holding positions as a professor of Economic Thought History and Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Undergraduate Santiago at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez since the same year. Covarrubias has contributed to Tele13 Radio and CNN Chile as a panelist between 2015 and 2024. Prior roles include professor at Instituto de EconomÃa UC, editorial director at Diario Financiero, and head of studies at both Asociación Nacional de la Prensa A.G and El Mercurio. Covarrubias's academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Navarra and a Master’s degree in Political Science from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where Francisco also earned a degree in Commercial Engineering.
