Nicolás Carbonare is an experienced Energy Model Developer and Team Lead at Ekotrope, specializing in model development for energy-efficient buildings, building physics, and HVAC systems since November 2022. Previously, Nicolás served as a Scientific Researcher at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, contributing to the building physics group and leading Team RoofKIT to a first prize victory at the Solar Decathlon Europe 2021/22. Nicolás also held positions as a Visiting Researcher at Loughborough University and a Scientific Researcher at Fraunhofer ISE, where research focused on building simulation and occupant behavior. Early career experience includes roles as a Teaching Assistant at Universidad de Buenos Aires, Risk Underwriter at Zurich Insurance Company, Technical Analyst at Pertenecer SRL, and HSE Trainee at AESA - Grupo YPF. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, a Master’s Degree in Energy Technologies, and an Engineer's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Buenos Aires.
