Jim Phelps serves as the Director of Enterprise Architecture & Strategy at the University of Washington, leading the Enterprise Architecture Steering Group to establish EA strategy and evaluate IT projects. With extensive experience in higher education IT, Jim Phelps has held multiple leadership roles, including Chair of ITANA.org and advisory board member for the Washington Digital Government Summit. Previously, Jim Phelps directed the Workday HR/Payroll Implementation project, managing a team of over 70 individuals. Additionally, Jim Phelps contributed to various EDUCAUSE initiatives focused on digital transformation in higher education and chaired the CIC IT Architects group. Prior roles include Enterprise Architect at UW-Madison and Sr. IT Architect at Oregon State University. Jim Phelps holds a degree from the University of Utah.
