Valerie Dunsford MBE is an experienced education professional currently serving as the Deputy Chief Inspector for BSO/ISQM at Education Development Trust since October 2016. Dunsford also holds the position of Inspector for BSO and ISQM with the same organization and has acted as Interim Head of UK Independent Schools. Additionally, Dunsford is a Reporting Inspector and Non-Executive Director with the Independent Schools Inspectorate. Between September 2016 and November 2023, Dunsford was the Interim Chair of the Board of Trustees for Astrea Academy Trust, contributing as a member of the board and chairing the Education, Inclusion, and Safeguarding committee. Previously, Dunsford served as Headteacher at Sheffield High School from January 2004 to August 2018. Dunsford holds a Bachelor's Degree in Modern Languages and a PGCE from The University of Manchester, as well as the National Professional Qualification of Headship (NPQH) from the National College of Leadership.
