James Fisher

Chief Corporate Development Officer at Edmund Optics

James Fisher has over 20 years of work experience in various leadership roles in the optics and photonics industry. James is currently serving as the Sr. Vice President of Corporate Development at Edmund Optics. Prior to this, from 2018 to 2022, James held the position of Vice President at Micrometals Inc., where they led the global sales and marketing organization. James also served as a Member of the Board of Directors for a Global Photonics and Optics Manufacturer & Distributor during the same period.

From 2007 to 2017, James worked at Newport Corporation, where they held multiple positions, including Vice President / General Manager of the Photonics Group and Vice President / General Manager of the Optical Components and Vibration Control Group. In these roles, they had global P&L responsibility and oversaw various product lines.

Before their tenure at Newport Corporation, James worked as the Global Marketing Director at Meggitt, where they were responsible for strategic marketing and product management in the aerospace, medical, and industrial markets. James also served as the Product Marketing Director at Newport Corporation, where they developed product roadmaps and marketing strategies for precision motion and vibration control products.

James began their career as a Product Development Engineer at MacLean-Fogg Component Solutions, where they played a key role in developing next-generation products for the automotive and energy distribution markets. James was nominated for the Henry Ford design award for their work on a stabilizer bar link design for Ford Mondeo in Europe.

Throughout their career, James Fisher has demonstrated strong leadership skills, global business acumen, and expertise in the optics and photonics industry.

James Fisher has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. James also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Marketing and Entrepreneurship from the USC Marshall School of Business.
