Jon-Thomas Macdonald has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Professional Hockey Player for the Cincinnati Cyclones in 2013 and the Hannover Scorpions in 2013-2014. Jon-Thomas then transitioned into the finance industry, working as an Accounting Associate for Linamar Corporation from 2014 to 2017, followed by a role as a Financial Analyst from 2017 to 2017. Macdonald then joined HockeyTech in 2018 as the Controller, before advancing to Vice President of Finance in 2019. Jon-Thomas assumed the position of CFO in 2020, which they held until 2022. Moving forward, they joined FloSports in 2022 as an Associate in Strategy and Corporate Development and is set to become the Director of Finance at EDGE10 Group in 2023.

Jon-Thomas Macdonald obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Accounting from the University of Guelph, where they studied from 2009 to 2013. Jon-Thomas also obtained a CPA certification from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario) in 2017.
