Marcus Rein has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Marcus began their career at Club One as a Personal Trainer in 2009. Following that, they founded and served as the Head Trainer for Santa Cruz Elite Fitness from 2007 to 2012, where they focused on strength and conditioning training for teams and individuals. Additionally, Marcus worked as a Goalkeeper Coach during that time.
In 2011, Marcus joined SOL Santa Cruz as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and Personal Trainer, supporting the outpatient care treatment progressions of experienced practitioners. Marcus later volunteered as a Physical Therapy Aide at Dominican Hospital Santa Cruz from March 2013 to September 2013.
Marcus pursued their Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Samuel Merritt University, where they worked as a Physical Therapy Student from August 2013 to August 2016. During this time, they had the opportunity to collaborate with leading experts in the movement science field and develop their skills in the exciting field of physical therapy.
Continuing their career in physical therapy, Marcus worked as a Doctor of Physical Therapy at Dewitt Physical Therapy from August 2016 to January 2020 and then at Back in Motion Physical Therapy, LLC from December 2019 to February 2023.
In 2021, Marcus transitioned to the tech industry, joining Soulbound Labs as a Developer Relations professional. In this role, they facilitated developer success, marketing, technical education, and content production for the team. Marcus created educational and informative content such as podcast interviews, YouTube tutorials, and social media postings. Marcus also built rapport and confidence with web3 teams.
Most recently, Marcus joined Edge & Node in 2023 as a Developer Success and Relations specialist.
Marcus Rein earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Wake Forest University from 2004 to 2006. Marcus then pursued a second Bachelor's degree in Psychology, with a focus on Legal Studies, at the University of Central Florida from 2008 to 2010. Marcus went on to complete a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at Samuel Merritt University from 2013 to 2016. Alongside their formal education, they obtained several certifications including completing the PNF - I Course from the Institute of Physical Art in June 2015, becoming a Certified Paralegal from the University of California Santa Cruz in April 2010, and becoming a Certified Personal Trainer from the American Council on Exercise in November 2009. Marcus also holds certifications as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and a Performance Enhancement Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, although the specific dates of completion are not provided.
