Benjamin Shanks-St John is a Senior Legal Counsel at EDF Renewables UK & Ireland, specializing in solar, storage, and private wire legal matters since July 2021. Prior to this role, Benjamin served as Legal Counsel at EDF UK, working within the Nuclear New Build Legal Team from November 2019 to July 2021. Benjamin began legal career as an Associate at Linklaters, focusing on environmental and climate change law in the energy and infrastructure sectors from September 2012 to November 2019. Educational qualifications include a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Oxford, a Master of Laws (LLM) in Environmental Law and Policy from UCL, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from The University of Law. Benjamin also holds a M1 in English and French Law from Paris-Pantheon-Assas University and a Bachelor of Arts in Law with French Law from the University of Cambridge.
