Michelle Turnbull has had a varied work experience, beginning with their role as Director at Melrose Community School in 2005. Michelle then moved on to become a 6-8 Reading/Writing Teacher at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in 2009. In 2010, they took on the role of Long Term Substitute Teacher at Merrick Academy Charter School. In 2012, they were appointed Special Education Teacher/Department Chair at Clayton County Public Schools. In 2014, they became the 3rd Grade Team Leader at Metropolitan Lighthouse Charter School. In 2015, they were appointed Dean of Academics at Community Partnership Charter School. In 2018, they moved on to become Dean of Special Education and Intervention at National Heritage Academies. Most recently, in 2021, they founded Turnbull Coaching and Consulting, LLC, where they currently serve as the Virtual Academic Coach for EdConnective.
Michelle Turnbull has a long and varied education history. Michelle obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hampton University in 1999. Michelle then went on to obtain a Certification in P-12 Special Education from MRESA in 2014. In 2015, they earned a Master of Education in School Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University. After that, they obtained a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Literacy Coaching and Teacher Leadership from Lesley University in 2019. Michelle also earned a Certificate in Women's Entrepreneurship from Cornell University in 2021. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Arts in Youth Studies from CUNY School of Professional Studies, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
