Francis Acquah-Aikins Jnr serves as the Executive Assistant to the Commissioner for Political Affairs at the ECOWAS Commission since October 2022. Prior to this role, Francis was a Technical Expert for the ECOWAS Conflict Prevention Framework at GIZ Nigeria from September 2020 to September 2022. Between June 2006 and September 2020, Francis worked with the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) as a Coordinator, overseeing the WANEP Liaison Office and analyzing issues related to Conflict, Peace, and Security. In addition, Francis held the position of Regional Coordinator, managing the coordination and harmonization of WANEP's policies across 15 ECOWAS member states. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Conflict, Peace, and Security from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre and a Diploma in Peace and Security in Africa from Uppsala University.
