Lisa Bauer

Lisa Bauer is an Associate at the Ecosystem Integrity Fund. Her responsibilities include investment due diligence, sector research, and deal sourcing. She has ten years of global experience at the field, policy, and academic levels in managing impact-driven projects and empowering communities and leaders. Prior to joining EIF, Lisa managed programs related to social entrepreneurship at the Blum Center for Developing Economies at UC Berkeley.

Before returning to California, Lisa conducted research and policy work in Washington, D.C. at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and the World Resources Institute. Lisa was also a consultant at Winrock International for a USAID/Burma Feed the Future project, where she conducted fieldwork to analyze the efficacy of multiple rural agricultural extension models used to support small agricultural businesses in Myanmar. She began her career in the Peace Corps where she served as an agricultural extension agent in rural Nepal and worked with smallholder farmers and microentrepreneurs to spur economic development and improve food security outcomes. While in Nepal, Lisa helped establish multiple small enterprises including oyster mushroom and organic coffee cooperatives and a regional produce distribution center.

Lisa received a BSc in Environmental Studies and a minor in city planning from UC Berkeley and she holds a MA in International Development Studies from George Washington University.
