Yasset Perez-Riverol is a seasoned professional in bioinformatics and proteomics, currently serving as the PRIDE Project Team Leader at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) since March 2014. In this role, Yasset oversees the development and maintenance of the PRIDE database, a leading repository for mass spectrometry-based proteomics data. Previously, Yasset held key positions as a Senior Software Engineer leading the development of OmicsDI, and as a Software Developer/Bioinformatician, contributing to the PRIDE Inspector Toolsuite and high-performance mass spectrometry analysis APIs. Prior to joining EMBL-EBI, Yasset led the computational proteomics group at the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, focusing on developing algorithms and quality assessment tools for proteomics experiments. Educational credentials include a PhD in Biological Science with a focus on Biochemistry from the University of Havana, alongside expertise in Java programming and a B.Sc. in Software Engineering.
