Lou Zylstra joined E&B Natural Resources in 2012 and has over 40 years of experience in oil & gas drilling, production facility operations, structural analysis, and pipeline engineering. Lou is a presenting author for the Society of Petroleum Engineers/International Association of Drilling Contractors and the Oil & Gas Journal regarding drilling tool failures, surf zone well abandonments. He was a distinguished presenter for the American-Canadian Society of Civil Engineers, in Quebec, regarding outfall stabilization in the surf zone. Lou is the past President of the California Steel Framing Alliance and Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute. He is a contributing member of the American Iron and Steel Institute’s Committee on Framing Standards; with over 20 publications. Lou’s international oilfield facility and pipeline experience include projects in Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Nigeria.
Lou is a Registered Professional Engineer in California, Nevada, and Arizona; and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University.
