Axel Lefrant

R&D engineer at EasyMile

Axel Lefrant has worked in the robotics industry since 2016. In that time, they have held positions at EasyMile, SoftBank Robotics Europe, IRT Jules Verne, and Omron Adept Technologies. At EasyMile, they worked as an R&D engineer. At SoftBank Robotics Europe, they held a role as a Stage de fin d'études - Ingénieur de Recherche Appliquée, where they conducted research on the recognition of skeletons and gestures in deep learning and developed a real-time system for extracting skeletons and recognizing gestures for the robot Pepper. At IRT Jules Verne, they were a Stagiaire développement logiciel, where they studied the Powerlink bus for communication between robot equipment on a Linux real-time system and ROS-OROCOS bridge, and developed a remote control system for the KUKA LBR iiwa robot. Finally, at Omron Adept Technologies, they were a Stagiaire développement logiciel, where they integrated an international team in Agile development, developed mobile and desktop interfaces with the Qt framework for tracking and controlling Lynx robots, and performed DevOps for continuous integration with unit and UI tests on Jenkins.

Axel Lefrant has a comprehensive education history. Axel obtained their Baccalauréat Scientifique from Lycée Guillaume Fichet in 2010-2013. Axel then attended INSA Lyon - Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon from 2013-2018, where they earned a Diplôme d'ingénieur in Informatique. In 2017, they completed a Semestre d'échange académique à Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Informatique. Additionally, they obtained a TOEIC 990/990 from Educational Testing Service (ETS) in March 2017.
