Geoff McKinnon has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Geoff started their career as an Engineering Intern at BAE Systems in 2004 and then worked as a Rental Technician at Specialized Audio Visual Inc in 2006. In 2007, they joined The Cavan Group as a Project Manager, where they provided IT design, consulting, and project management services to Fortune 500 clients. McKinnon then worked as a Sound Engineer in a freelance and volunteer capacity from 2000 to 2010.

In 2010, they joined EAW – Eastern Acoustic Works as a Lead/Acoustic Engineer, responsible for electro-acoustic design and system development. Geoff later became the Engineering Manager at EAW, overseeing all aspects of product development and managing interdisciplinary teams. In 2016, McKinnon was promoted to Senior Director of Engineering at EAW, where they had overall technical leadership and product development responsibilities.

Geoff McKinnon attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 2002 to 2007, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree. Geoff focused their studies on Electrical Engineering and also completed a minor in Music.
