Sheila Rivera is an experienced grant writer and nonprofit leader, currently serving as a Grant Writer at Easter Seals Greater Houston since June 2021. Previously, Sheila held the position of Regional Director for the Southern US at Niroga Institute, where development of partnerships aimed at improving educational equity in Title I schools was a primary focus. As a self-employed contract grant writer from August 2016 to December 2020, Sheila successfully authored and edited grant proposals to assist nonprofit clients in diversifying revenue sources. At Family Service Association of San Antonio, Inc., Sheila managed evaluation, data, and contracts, developing grant proposals for various funding sources, and supported the management of a Head Start program serving 2,300 children. Earlier in Sheila's career, experiences included roles at Trinity University and the New Mexico Economic Development Department, reinforcing a strong foundation in public administration and urban studies, with education credentials that include a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity University.
