Gavin Kearney serves as the Deputy Managing Attorney for Clean Energy at Earthjustice since March 2022. Previously, Kearney was Senior Counsel at the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights from December 2019 to April 2022. From November 2015 to September 2021, Kearney directed the Legal Impact Network at the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law. Kearney also held the position of Director for the Environmental Justice and Community Development Program at New York Lawyers for the Public Interest from January 2004 to December 2015 and served as a Board Member for New Partners for Community Revitalization during the same period. Kearney’s earlier experience includes directing research and programs at the Institute on Race and Poverty and working as a Legal Fellow. Kearney holds a JD from the University of Minnesota Law School and a BA in Philosophy from Lawrence University.
