James Haj is a board member at The Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe. James previously worked for Miami-Dade County Public Schools from January 2015 to April 2016, where they served as the assistant superintendent/chief negotiator: labor relations/compensation administration. In this role, they led, directed, and managed the functions of labor relations and compensation administration, served as chief negotiator, and was responsible for negotiations and the collective bargaining process with five recognized labor unions that represent over 31,000 full-time employees. James also coordinated Executive Session with Superintendent and School Board Member, provided direction on behalf of the Superintendent for grievance arbitrations, mediations, impasse resolutions, ULP hearings and court cases, and supervised the M-DCPS Compensation Administration program for all employees.
James Haj studied Educational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University for their post-graduate degree. James also has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Florida State University. James also has a certification in Educational Leadership from the State of Florida, and another in Teaching Certificate from the state as well.
