Jorge Barrera, EPISD School Board President, was elected to the Board on November 8, 2016. Mr. Barrera graduated from Eagle Pass High School in 1997 and furthered his education at Texas A&M University, where in 2003 he earned a Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering degree. During his duration at Texas A&M, Mr. Barrera became President of Walton Hall and President of the Residence Hall Association (RHA). In 2006, he began working for Eagle Pass Water Works System as the Regional Water Treatment Plant Process Engineer and on June 30th 2011 he became General Manager of Eagle Pass Water Works System. Aside from serving the board, Mr. Barrera is currently a Board Member of the Rio Grande Regional Water Planning Group (Region M), member of the Rio Grande Watermaster Advisory Committee, Board Member of the Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Southwest Texas Junior College Engineering Advisory Committee.
