Brian Newkirk has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Brian is currently the VP, Program Team Leader, and Head of New Product Planning at Dyne Therapeutics since April 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals for several years, where they held the positions of Senior Director, Head of Global Market Access and Pricing, and Director of Business Planning and Program Management. At Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Brian led the global market access and pricing strategy team and played a key role in the growth and development of the company.

Before their time at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Brian worked at McKinsey & Company as an Engagement Manager for five years. Brian's early career includes an internship at Genzyme Corporation in oncology business development and a role as a Legislative Assistant for the Office of Congressman Jim Cooper. Brian also worked as a Project Assistant and Policy Analyst at the Progressive Policy Institute, where they authored policy papers on technology and the "New Economy."

Brian Newkirk attended Concord Carlisle High School from 1993 to 1997. Brian then pursued a bachelor's degree at Bowdoin College from 1997 to 2001, majoring in Political Theory and Biochemistry. Later, from 2006 to 2008, they attended MIT Sloan School of Management and earned an MBA in Biomedical Enterprise. In addition, from 2006 to 2009, Brian attended Harvard Medical School to obtain a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Enterprise.
