Whitney Hornung has been working in the professional world since 2009, when they began their studies at Colorado State University. In 2013, they took on a number of roles, including Web Content Editor at Colorado State University OnlinePlus, President of the Colorado State University Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Board of Directors Student Chair at Rocky Mountain Student Media Corporation, and Director of The Rammies Awards Show. In 2014, they worked as a Production Coordinator at Image Brew. From 2015-2018, they were an Assistant Track & Field and Cross Country Coach and Director of Operations at the University of Wyoming. In 2019, they became the Assistant Director of Development at Colorado State University. Her most recent role is Account Executive at DuploCloud, which they began in 2022.

Whitney Hornung received their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wyoming College of Business in 2019. Whitney also holds two Bachelors Degrees from Colorado State University, one in Political Science and International Relations, and the other in Journalism and Technical Communications, which they earned between 2009 and 2014.
