Isela Vasquez has a diverse work experience that spans several years and includes various roles in the field of education. Isela'smost recent role was as a Senior Quality Control Specialist (Contract) at Duolingo, which they started in July 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Multinational School Bahrain as an Art Teacher and EAL Teacher from August 2017 to November 2018. Isela also had experience as a Classroom Teacher at Modern Knowledge Schools from August 2016 to August 2017. In addition, Isela worked as an EFL Professor at Westgate Corporation from May 2016 to July 2016, an ESL Guest Lecturer at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University from October 2015 to April 2016, and a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer with the Peace Corps from June 2013 to April 2015. Isela also worked as an ELL Instructor at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College from June 2012 to June 2013 and again from February 2010 to June 2010. Isela's earlier work experience includes being an ESL Instructor at Jung Chul English Academy from November 2010 to November 2011, and they also held the role of ESL Instructor at the same academy from November 2008 to November 2009.

Isela Vasquez received a Bachelor's Degree in Fine and Studio Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications. In 2008, Isela received a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate from the Midwest Teacher Training Program. In 2010, they obtained a Part-time Provisional Certification from the State of Wisconsin Technical College System Board. Lastly, Isela completed a course called "14.73x: The Challenges of Global Poverty" offered by edX in May 2013.
