Madeleine Hawkesby is a Special Counsel at Duncan Cotterill, specializing in Employment Law and Education Law since August 2021. In addition, Madeleine serves as a Limited Statutory Manager and Commissioner for the Ministry of Education of New Zealand, a role held since May 2016. Previous experience includes serving as Director at Hawkesby & Co, a human resource consultancy, and as a Board Member for multiple organizations such as Family Planning and Christchurch South Intermediate. Academically, Madeleine has lectured in Employment Law and Human Resource Management at various institutions, including the University of Canterbury and CPIT. Madeleine holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Canterbury and a Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Supervision from the Ara Institute of Canterbury.
