Makenzie Lysek Bushold is a highly skilled professional with a diverse background in research and military leadership. Currently serving as a Research Analyst II and Lab Manager at Duke University since July 2024, Makenzie previously worked as an Emergency Department Scribe at The Hospitals of Providence from March 2023 to November 2023. Makenzie's military experience spans five years in the US Army, where roles included Captain and Fire Control and Test Officer in the 30th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, coordinating developmental testing for advanced weapon systems, and serving as Executive Officer for a forward deployed Army Firing Battery in the CENTCOM AOR. Additionally, Makenzie held positions as Tactical Control Officer and Platoon Leader in Ballistic Missile Defense, alongside a foundational role as Second Lieutenant in Air Defense Artillery. Makenzie earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Factors Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2018 and graduated from Emmaus High School in 2014.
