Jon Phillips currently serves as a Visiting Professor of the Practice in the Department of Computer Science at Duke University since January 2022. As the Founder of Galavant LLC since January 2020, Jon has returned to a lab-focused environment. Previously, Jon held the position of VP Product Management at Certain from December 2017 to January 2020, following the acquisition of Gather Digital, a company founded by Jon. From April 2002 to November 2019, Jon was the Owner and VP of Mobile Products at Bookmarks Magazine and served as the Founder of Gather Digital from 2009 until its acquisition. Jon’s early career included roles such as VP of Marketing & Product Development at Desktop.com and VP of Marketing at Digitas Classic. Jon holds an MBA from Harvard Business School (1995) and a BA in Computer Science from Harvard University (1990).
