Ruben Ortiz, PE, currently serves as the Transformer Lead Engineer at Duke Energy Corporation since June 2019. Prior to this role, Ruben held the position of Senior System Engineer and Senior Electrical Design Engineer at PPL Electric Utilities from November 2017 to June 2019. Ruben's extensive career began at PREPA, where Ruben worked as the Chief Engineer for Substations Maintenance from August 1991 to November 2017. Ruben Ortiz graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical and Power Transmission Installation from the Universidad de Puerto Rico between 1985 and 1990.
