Matt Bunn has over 20 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Matt is currently working at Ducks Unlimited as the Managing Director of Development, a position they have held since 2023. In this role, they provide strategic direction and leadership for development efforts, identifies and solicits major gifts from individuals and organizations, and secures funding for conservation initiatives. Prior to this role, Matt served as the Senior Director of Development at Ducks Unlimited from 2021 to 2023. Matt also worked as the Director of Development from 2015 to 2021, where they coordinated with colleagues to develop proposals and secure funding.

Before joining Ducks Unlimited, Matt worked at Academy Sports + Outdoors as the Regional Manager of Promotions from 2013 to 2015 and as the Regional Marketing Specialist for Field and Stream from 2011 to 2013. Matt also served as the Recreational Fishing Chair (Volunteer) on the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council from 2010 to 2012, where they provided advice on various management and research objectives.

In addition, Matt has experience as the Assistant Director at Coastal Conservation Association Texas from 2006 to 2011, and as a Project Manager/Sales at Plant Equipment and Services from 2003 to 2006. Matt began their career in the US Army, where they served as an SSG E-6 from 1999 to 2005.

Matt Bunn completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Resource Management from Texas A&M University, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. In 1999, they also completed a brief course in Firefighter I & II at the Texas A&M Fire School, Brayton Field, specializing in firefighting.
