Andrew Mooney is a seasoned conservation professional with extensive experience in zoological research and management. Currently serving as the Senior Conservation and Science Officer at Dublin Zoo since November 2021, Andrew coordinates support for various conservation projects and oversees the implementation of a ten-year Conservation Master Plan. In addition to this role, Andrew is the IUCN SSC Centre for Species Survival: Ireland Coordinator, managing the region's biodiversity initiatives through a partnership with the IUCN Species Survival Commission. As the Citron-Crested Cockatoo EEP Coordinator for the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria, Andrew manages the ex situ population for this critically endangered species. Andrew's academic background includes a PhD in Zoology from Trinity College Dublin, complemented by experience as a research data officer, science educator, and guest researcher. Upcoming education includes a Diploma in Leadership and Management from UCD Professional Academy.
