Derek Hand is an accomplished academic serving as the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Dublin City University since September 2016, also holding the position of Full Professor and Professor, and previously acting as the Head of the School of English. Prior to this, Derek Hand was associated with St Patrick's College from September 2002 to August 2016 as a Doctor, and earlier served as a Lecturer at University College Dublin from 1998 to 2001. Educational credentials include a PhD in Irish Literature, a Master of Arts in Anglo-Irish Literature and Drama, and a Bachelor's degree in English and Philosophy, all obtained from University College Dublin.
