Maik Kindermann is an accomplished expert in research and development, currently serving as Head of R&D Bovaer and Head of Innovation Portfolio Management at dsm-firmenich since June 2023. Kindermann leads strategic initiatives to enhance the innovation pipeline, particularly focusing on the development of Bovaer, a revolutionary feed additive aimed at significantly reducing enteric methane emissions from ruminants. Previously, Kindermann held various senior leadership roles at DSM from December 2008 to May 2023, including Sr. Director Tech-Scouting&Venturing and Director Technology Scouting & Venturing, where significant contributions were made towards advancing sustainability and mitigating climate change in the agricultural sector. Additionally, early career experiences include project leadership at Sanofi-Aventis and co-founding Covalys Biosciences. Kindermann's academic credentials include a postdoctoral degree in Chemical Biology from EPFL, a PhD in Artificial Self-Replicating Systems from Ruhr University Bochum, as well as studies at the Weizmann Institute of Science, the University of Freiburg, and Brock University.
