Franco Bonanata has an extensive work experience spanning over several companies. Franco started their career at BASF in 1990, where they held various positions in Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations until 1995. Franco then worked at BASF again from 1996 to 1998, serving as a Production Planner and Customer Account Analyst. In 1998, they joined Roche as a Controller Assistant and later became the Controller of the Vitamins Division until 2003. During their time at Roche, they implemented local policies and procedures, successfully implemented SAP for the company, and created the Treasury Department. From 2003 to 2009, they worked at DSM Nutritional Products, first as Controller for the Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay Area, then as the Financial Controller for the Central America Area, and eventually became the Director of the Central America Area. In 2009, they joined DSM and served as the Global Controller for Demand & Supply Chain, overseeing financial activities related to the global supply chain. From 2011 to 2016, they became the Global Controller for Manufacturing, Technology, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality, where they coordinated financial activities for production sites and supported local site controllers. From 2016 to 2018, they served as the Global Lead Auditor Finance in Corporate Operational Audit, providing independent assurance on risk management and control. From 2018 to 2022, they were the Head of Risk Management and Internal Control for Cluster Materials and DSM Innovation Center, where they drove the implementation of risk management and internal control processes. Currently, they are serving as the Head of Risk Business Partners at DSM-Firmenich, a position they have held since May 2023.
Franco Bonanata has a diverse education history with a focus on finance and risk management. In 2023, they completed a course in Corporate Finance: Financing at the Gies College of Business - University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, as well as a course in Financial Forensics and Fraud Investigation at West Virginia University. In 2022, they pursued a specialization in Fintech - Applications & Financial Technology at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2021, they took a course in Sustainable Finance at Erasmus University Rotterdam and participated in the A4S - Accounting for Sustainability Academy program.
