Nobody is sure where David was born. Rumor is that it was a flophouse in New Orleans full of pushers and pimps. His earliest memory is of a person named Fast Eddie who called him Slick. Certainly, the name ā€œSlickā€ is tattooed on his shoulder. He has another tattoo butā€¦heā€™s never seen it.

He moved up the ranks of notoriety thanks to his poker playing skills. He deals from the bottom of the deck but itā€™s impossible to spot. Whatever cards are dealtā€¦he somehow wins. This skill allowed him to win a troubled printing company during an ā€œall inā€ final hand.

Turning around the printing company was easy. Before anyone knew what was happening, the paper companies, ink companies, and machine dealers owed him money. The rest is history.
