Carlos Laya has extensive experience in finance and accounting, currently serving as an Account Receivable Specialist at D&S Global Solutions since March 2022. Previously, Carlos held the position of Business Unit Controller at Scomi Oiltools BVI/Premium Industrial Machining, where responsibilities included leading finance operations and managing external audits. Carlos also served as a Business Intelligence/Finance Manager at BARRI FINANCIAL GROUP, where key accomplishments included designing financial processes and managing foreign currency operations. In a multi-country role, Carlos managed finance operations for Colombia and Venezuela, with a focus on tax, treasury, and financial reporting. Earlier career experiences include finance coordination for Exxon Corporation and treasurer roles at Hewlett-Packard Company, along with analytical work at Exxon Chemical Company. Carlos is academically prepared with a Specialist degree in International Financial Accounting from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Management from St. Edward's University.
