Marco Biamonte is an accomplished scientist and entrepreneur with extensive experience in pharmaceutical research and development. As President and Founder of Drugs & Diagnostics for Tropical Diseases since 2011, Marco has focused on addressing diseases associated with poverty, particularly through the development of diagnostic tools for parasitic infections. Previously, as a Senior Scientist at Biogen Idec from 2006 to 2011, Marco led multiple projects in oncology, immunology, and neurology while managing teams of chemists. Earlier in their career, Marco contributed to the development of significant inhibitors at Conforma Therapeutics and optimized drug candidates at Serono Pharmaceuticals. Academic credentials include a Post Doc in Organic Chemistry from ETH Zürich, a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Cambridge, and a degree from EPFL.
