Joel Johnson has a diverse work experience in the aerospace and engineering industry. Joel is currently working at DroneBase as a Senior Engineer, a role they started in August 2022. Prior to that, they were a System Engineer at the same company from January 2022 to July 2022.

Before joining DroneBase, Joel had an internship as a System Engineering Intern at AirProbe in November 2021, where they worked until January 2022. Joel also worked as an Analyst at Namekart from April 2021 to September 2021.

Joel gained valuable experience as an intern at Aerotics Technologies from November 2020 to January 2021, Aeolus AeroTech from July 2020 to September 2020, and Bangalore Aircraft Industries Pvt. Ltd. for a two-week online internship program in June 2020.

Their earliest internship experience was at Dassault Systèmes in January 2020 to February 2020 as part of a skill development program in collaboration with the Government of Karnataka and Visvesvaraya Technological University. This internship provided him with valuable knowledge in the aerospace and defense domain as well as exposure to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Joel Johnson attended Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangalore from 2017 to 2021, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering Technology/Technician. In addition to their formal education, Joel obtained several certifications including Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate – Additive Manufacturing and Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate – Sustainability from Dassault Systèmes in September 2021. Joel also acquired certifications in various subjects such as Introduction to Airbreathing Propulsion and Advance Aircraft Maintenance from NPTEL in December 2020 and November 2020 respectively. Furthermore, Joel obtained certifications in Programming with Python and SOLIDWORKS from Internshala in August 2020 and June 2020 respectively. Joel also obtained certifications in Manufacturing-related subjects such as Inspection and Quality Control in Manufacturing, Processing of Polymers and Polymer Composites, and Aircraft Maintenance from NPTEL in March 2020, March 2020, and February 2020 respectively. Additionally, Joel received a certification in Design of fixed wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles from NPTEL in October 2019.
