Gerry Downey has a diverse work experience in various fields. Gerry began their career in 1979 as a Jet Engine Mechanic in the Ohio Air National Guard, where they performed maintenance on aircraft engines and conducted engine runs. In 1986, they joined the United States Air Force as a Weapons System Officer, where they planned and executed training missions for the F-15E aircraft. Gerry also served as a Standardization and Evaluation Flight Examiner. In 2008, Downey joined Bogus Basin Ski and Board School as an Alpine Instructor. Since 2012, they have been working at Delaware Resource Group as an F-15E MTC Instructor, where they continue to train and maintain knowledge on aircraft systems and procedures.
Gerry Downey completed their Diploma in the College Preparatory Program at Groveport Madison High School from 1974 to 1979. They then pursued their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Aviation/Airway Management and Operations at The Ohio State University from 1980 to 1986. Finally, Gerry obtained their Master of Science (MS) degree in Aviation/Airway Management and Operations from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 1996 to 2000.
