Ann Searcy is an attorney working in Drew Eckl & Farnham’s Brunswick office, where she practices in the area of civil litigation with a focus on premises liability. Ann was excited to return to private practice when she joined the firm in fall 2021 after nearly two decades in the public sector.
Although Ann worked as a civil litigator at an insurance defense firm in Savannah during the early part of her career, she has spent the past 18 years working as a staff attorney in both the State and Superior Courts of Chatham County. Ann worked as the Staff Attorney to the Honorable James F. Bass, Jr. in Superior Court until his retirement in 2021. During this time, Ann had the opportunity to assist Judge Bass with every aspect of civil and criminal litigation, with more unique matters including two death penalty trials, a death penalty habeas corpus trial, and an election challenge. While working with Judge Bass, Ann won the Chatham County Employee of the Year award in 2013. After Judge Bass’ retirement, Ann worked with the newly-elected State Court Judge Elizabeth Coolidge as her Staff Attorney, managing her civil caseload.
Ann lives in Savannah, and during her free time, she can be found at her local Pure Barre studio or driving her 13-year-old between various sport practices. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Sadie Mae.
