Ethan Pickett is a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS) with a Bachelors of Science in Recreational Therapy from the University of Toledo (UT). He continued his education by receiving a graduate degree with a Master’s of Arts in Recreation Administration from UT in 2013. During this time, he was a graduate assistant that taught numerous recreational therapy courses to future Therapeutic Recreational Specialists. While completing his graduate degree, he worked part-time at ProMedica Flower Hospital’s psychiatric unit. From his experience, he knew his niche was to provide a client-focused approach to therapy. Pursuing his passion, he joined a well-respected company in Fort Wayne, Indiana, as a full-time Recreational Therapist. During this time of growth, he harnessed his skills as a therapist for the next three years. With this experience, Ethan became a Medicaid waiver provider for the state of Indiana and started his business, Pure Abilities.
