Rose Sebastian is a Special Education Teacher at Dover School District (SAU 11) since August 2023. Prior to this role, Rose served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Virginia from August 2017 to August 2022, focusing on technology-based supports for teacher education and advancing educational equity. Additional experience includes managing a mixed-reality simulation lab, redesigning teacher education course syllabi to address structural inequality, and conducting research on equity-focused teaching practices. Rose's earlier positions include special education roles in San Diego Unified School District, where notable accomplishments involved transitioning to inclusive programming and co-developing a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support system. Additional experience includes positions at New Alternatives For Children, Walker Therapeutic & Educational Programs, and an internship with the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement of Sri Lanka. Rose holds an Ed.D. from the UVA School of Education and Human Development, along with multiple degrees and credentials in Special Education and Psychology.
