Ora J. is an experienced pastoral care provider and rabbinic intern with a robust background in Jewish community leadership and education. Currently serving as a Pastoral Care Intern at DOROT, Ora J. focuses on aiding Jewish seniors experiencing social isolation and collaborates with social workers to meet client needs. Previous roles include Student Rabbi at congregations in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Baton Rouge, where Ora J. led Shabbat services, developed holiday celebrations, and engaged with congregants through teaching and counseling. Ora J. has also contributed as a Religious School Teacher and Hebrew Teacher, facilitating learning for various age groups. Educational qualifications include Rabbinic Ordination and a Master of Arts in Hebrew Literature from Hebrew Union College, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts Management from Ithaca College.
