Dr Grant Fourie qualified as a medical doctor from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in 1995. He spent 2 years in the UK in the specialities of Trauma Medicine, Orthopaedic surgery and ENT, after which he returned to South Africa.

In a world that has become so focused on specialist medicine, and in which the GP is seen as some sort of ā€˜minor illnessā€™ or referral doctor, he realised that the general family practitioner was perfectly suited to practice functional and integrative health and could have the greatest impact on his patientsā€™ quality and quantity of life. Dr Fourie now runs a Functional Medicine practice in Cape Town.
